YMCA of the Capital Area Newsletter - Y Connection April 2018
The Y is offering summer camp to kids, ages 4-12, and a teen camp for teens, ages 13-15, as an adventurous way for them to stay active and healthy this summer. Register by April 15 to save on registration fees! For more information, visit ymcabr.org/camp.
Swish into summer with the summer sports program at the YMCA. Basketball is available for children ages 3-17, cheerleading and baseball are available to children ages 3-12. Registration deadline is May 22.
Programs will be offered at the following locations:
- Basketball: C. B. Pennington Jr. YMCA, Baranco Clark YMCA,
A. C. Lewis YMCA and Paula G. Manship YMCA
- Cheerleading: Paula G. Manship YMCA, C. B. Pennington Jr. YMCA

On Saturday, April 21, we are holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active. YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families, features activities such as games, healthy cooking demonstrations and arts and crafts to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home.
The Y’s five-week Family Fit Challenge will also end on this day and one lucky participating family will be selected to win a FREE three month family membership to the Y!
Healthy Kids Day will take place from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the following Y locations:
