CHILDHOOD OBESITY AWARENESS MONTH

September is Childhood Obesity Awareness month. In Louisiana, about 40% of children are considered overweight or obese, and the Y wants families to understand the dangers of childhood obesity and ways to reverse its course. Regular physical activity along with eating fruits and veggies, can lower your child's risk. Additionally, the Y's nutrition and fitness programs provide children with the opportunity to grow the skills they need to maintain healthy and active lifestyles for years to come. Click here for more information.

IMPACT GROUP AND LSU'S GENEROUS DONATION

This month the IMPACT Group hosted a leadership development workshop where LSU MBA students worked with students from the Baton Rouge area to build bicycles to donate to the children at YMCA summer camps to help them stay healthy and active. We would like to give a big thanks to LSU and the IMPACT Group for donating the bikes to YMCA kids!
